“Part of moving on from the deepest lows is one's ability to accept”

“Poppy” a sculptural investigation by Zoe Nikirk.

“An exploration in to the journey of depression. The soft, slow, suffocation that is almost unnoticed until it's overwhelming. Burying yourself in your blankets, hiding from the reality of your pain. Putting on this abstract mask to fit in with the world around you, pretending this darkness doesn't exist. Part of moving on from the deepest lows is one's ability to accept. Challenge the pain and fear, and accept the chance of a downfall. Let your emotions ruminate and bloom in to something far more beautiful than the darkness that surrounded you before.”
